Ways you can fast
During the World Summit (September 14-16), you can participate in this fast any number of ways. A fast can be as simple as sacrificing one meal during the course of the Summit, which can serve as a spiritual and personal act of solidarity with the billions of people across the world who go without food and basic necessities every day. Please note that drinking water is generally considered advisable while conducting most fasts, and if you have a medical condition, you should consult your doctor. Consider:
- Fasting for the entire three days.
- Fasting for one or two of the days.
- Fasting during daylight hours only.
- Skipping one meal per day, or for one of the days.
- Going on a simple food fast (e.g., eating brown rice).
- Going on a "liquids only" fast.
